- Ozone (O3)
- Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)
- Hydrofluorocarbons (including HCFCs and HFCs)
make a layer (much like the ozone layer) above the planet which allows the solar radiation of the sun in, but doesn't actually let much out. Therefore, acting as the glass in a greenhouse and heating up the Earth.
